What is the average length of a doctor’s appointment in the United States?

ClockHint, it is longer than 3!

Doctor’s appointments are important, especially when you are coping with a chronic health condition. These days they seem to be getting shorter and shorter. I’ve had a few that lasted barely over five minutes.

The brevity of these appointments almost assures that you are going to forget something. You’ll get home and remember that you wanted to ask about your diet or that pesky burning sensation.

As the CEO of your health, it is your responsibility to come prepared. If you don’t feel well, please have a friend of loved one accompany you to your appointment to make sure that you get all of your questions answered and so that you have a backup when receiving care instructions.

To backup both you and your accompaniment, I’ve compiled a 34-point checklist to make sure that you get the most of your time with your doctor. It is in three sections: Before the Appointment, During the Appointment and After the Appointment.

Plus, as an bonus, you’ll receive 101 Thoughts on Healing, my bouquet of flowers to you.

So, what is the average time of a doctor’s appointment in the United States? The answer is two clicks away.
