Warrior Women: Sarah & Lauren

Warrior Women: Sarah & Lauren

I wanted Chronic Resilience to be representative of a wide range of experiences, so I set out to find a group of resilient women to share their tips, tricks and insights from living with challenging health conditions. Each chapter in the book contains a conversation with a woman who is living gracefully, proactively…resiliently.

Over the next few weeks I will be introducing you to these amazing women. Today I’d like you to meet Sarah (chapter 2) & Lauren (chapter 4).

Sarah Ramey (a.k.a. Wolf Larsen)

Sarah has an undiagnosed autoimmune-like illness. She lives with extreme fatigue and symptoms that mimic the flu complete with aches and pains. She has learned to make her health a top priority which can be hard to do when you don’t “look” sick. Shortly after she got sick, Lauren began playing guitar at open mic nights under the stage name Wolf Larsen. It was there she found an outlet to pour her emotions and thoughts around her illness into.  Her music is breathtakingly gorgeous. I’m sure you’ll agree. Visit Wolf Larsen Music

Lauren Nastasi

Lauren is diagnosed with Crohn’s disease and has taken charge of her health in an incredible pioneering fashion. She became a gluten-free raw vegan to manage her diagnosis. This was very contrary to the advice she received from her doctors who said that her symptoms were unrelated to her diet. Lauren knew that was incorrect, so she sought out a food and stress management plan that could help her manage flair ups. After finding what was working, Lauren began writing about her experience at her blog, Ginger is the New Pinkgingeristhenewpink.blogspot.com. She offers get advice for learning to let the small things go and live into the great moments of each day.

I really am so excited for you to read both of these (+7 more) incredible women’s stories in the book.
